Potential Mac address conflict

Hi, Julian. The default Mac address is 0A:0A:0A:0A:0A:86; If we have several IPMCs in one system, may have Mac address conflict. How to avoid this issue? Do we need to program the IPMC with the image with different Mac address?

Hi @wyin, enbaling the <UseFlashedMAC /> node in the Lan config section should base your MAC address on the one flashed at production time. This one is unique and registered at CERN.

Best,
Julian

So, each IPMC should have an unique image with the unique MAC address, is it true?

Hi @wyin, yes, each IPMC has its own address flashed in the eeprom. You can use it by enabling the node.

Best,
Julian

which node should be enabled to get IPMC’s MAC address from EEPROM?
0A:0A:0A:0A:0A:86
255.255.255.0
192.138.1.3

Hi Julian. As you said, IPMC already have an unique MAC address in its EEPROM. How to enable and know this value?
